Backward Shooting with my puma m92 357 magnum |
Lead | |
|
Hey, everyone. I recently got a puma m92 357/38 Large loop lever action rifle. I don't think the loop on mine is as large as the one Mike's gun. Maybe
it is, and the loop just looks smaller in person, I don't know. I would like to drill a hole in it, and put a screw in the lever, but I'm afraid I
would just mess up the gun. After seeing Mike spin 2 guns at one time, I just had to give it a try. In the video, I have the puma in my right hand, and my
Henry 22 in my left. I tried shooting some bricks while facing backwards, and looking in a mirror, It was very hard to get the mirror lined up right, but after
you do, it is pretty easy to shoot backwards. I'm not sure if embed codes work on this site, but if they do, the video should be right below.
if embed codes don't work, you can go to the video at this link below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sbGq0lTCOs Well, Take it
easy, everyone. My next thing that I would love to learn to be able to do, Is shoot from the hip, Like Mike DiMuzio. Mike is the man!!

Shooting the bottle out of the guys hand.
|
Hey, Mike. I watched your video. It's real good. It looks like it was a lot of fun to make. I was just wondering, how did you do that scene were you shoot
the bottle out of the guys hand? Did you have some kind of charge in the bottle, or something? But I guess that had to be a special bottle, too. Because I
imagine if a real bottle explode in a persons hand, it would cut there hand up pretty bad. But that was a pretty awesome effect, no matter how you went about
doing it, LOL. Well, Take it easy, Man. And thanks for going to watch my card shooting video. Daniel Riddle.

unpicked1,
Your Puma has the "3/4 Loop Lever" on it. Their standard "Large Loop Lever" is a little bigger. See here: http://www.legacysports.com/products/puma/puma_accessories.html

Thanks for the info, JWHardin. I'll probably get one of those bigger loops. Take it easy.

Rifleman lever dimensions

Hi Friends and Rifleman fans,
I will share this piece of information with you all. I have got and use what are supposed to be the templates from the original rifle levers used on the show. I got them from a friend of Chuck Connors who now is deceased. The original circular lever dimensions are 4 5/8 X 3 ¾. I have never shared that before, but with all the interest in large loop levers I thought some of you may find that an interesting piece of information. I am an have been in the process of having the capabilities of making these original Rifleman style levers on a greater scale and would offer them to fans at that time. This project is still in the works. I will tell you now that it takes a lot more work to do it and do it right than you may imagine. They will not be cheap, but rather an even better lever than I have used in the past. The quality of steel (milled steel), welding, and finishing will be a tremendous upgrade. I will announce this on www.riflemansrifle.com if I decide to offer them to fans. I have received literally hundreds of requests over the past few months. Yours Truly, Mike DiMuzio

Hey, Mike. Yeah, I figured that rigging the screw up to rapid fire the rifle was pretty tricky. That's why I haven't tried it yet with my loop.
I have tried rigging a piece of metal in the loop on my henry with Duck tape. You have to have it in just the right position, or it trips the trigger to soon, and the bullet wont fire. I was able to rig the henry 22 to rapidfire, but it keep slipping, and then it would start tripping the trigger to soon. But I was able to fire 8 shots with it before it slipped. Oh, and it just really looked cheap with duck tape raped round the lever like that, LOL I found out another thing. When I start trying to rapidfire I would get in a hurry, and not bring the lever all the way down, and not fully eject the empty shell before I brought the lever back up, and I would end up jamming the gun. So even if you do have the screw in the right position, you still have to be pretty skilled to rapid fire the gun like you do. I have also tried to rapid fire the gun by hand, after pinching the tar out of my finger 2 times, I decided not to try that anymore, LOL. Well, take it easy. |

Hey Sodbuster,
Nice website, thanks for putting it all together. Posted a reply but I guess it didn't go through. Are those dimensions taken from the outside of the loop or the inside? The screw is hard to find. Can't find those filisters at Home Depot or Lowes. Are you using a 8/32 x 1"? I am building a rifle out of a Rossi and want to get it right the best I can. I'm gonna buy the rifle display Henry Rifles sale for displaying their rifles and put a picture of Lucas over the Henry name. I think it will look good over the fireplace. Enjoyed watching your shootout and hope more are in the works. Please post your appearance schedule, if you are close I would like to come watch you shoot. Thanks Apache |
